On the heels of a widely popular debut last year, Press Pass Showcase returns in 2010. Press Pass' foray into the high-end market has three packs per box with five cards per pack. Each pack yields four base or parallel cards numbered to 499 or less. The fifth card is either an autograph, memorabilia or autographed memorabilia piece numbered to 99 or less.
Carrying the hype throughout the 2010 season, Danica Patrick is well represented in her rookie year. While there are 50 cards in the base set, her autographed memorabilia serves as her rookie card and mkes up a short printed 51st card for the set.
Showcase has succeeded in surpassing expectations by delivering a solid product. With an excellent design that splits its time between foil board and clear acetate, the base set is highly collectible and makes for a lot of fun to put together. One of the big rubs last year was the price, as it hit higher than $300 a box at one point. The price point this year has not quite reached those numbers and has maintained around Press Pass' recommended SRP. Unfortunately, at this price, it still keeps some mainstream collectors away. At the same time, Showcase brings in other collectors who wouldn't otherwise pick up racing cards. This leaves it very debatable on who this release is intended for.
Once again, I'd like to thank our wonderful sponsors at Press Pass for giving us the opportunity to open and review this release. For more information on all their releases, you can check them out at www.presspassinc.com.Last edited by Enigma; 08-24-2010 at 07:56 PM.

Interested in a chance to pick up a random card from this break? To get a chance, leave your thoughts on the product in the thread as well as post on the YouTube page. Your post here can be about the product overall, but the YouTube post should be about the box broken in the video.

The product itself is really nice. Up around the range of the Cup in hockey. But that price for only 3 hits means you have to hit a home run to make it worth it (if thats what you are in the hobby for).
The race used cards could have had some more colors on them. I've seen lots of nice colored pieces of sheetmetal and shoes etc.
Overall. Thanks for showing it off Tony.

Decent box....and calling those hits 'decent' proves what a great product PP put out with Showcase. Awesome product all around! And I'd love to win anything from the box, Tony. ;)

It seems like you pulled a tough box. Most of the boxes I've seen broken had incredible value in them. I know mine did. But Showcase may be one of the nicest products in any sport I've ever seen. I really like it.
