That's a great question. Many people here will say take the money and run. You risk your trading/selling reputation doing that. Other people will say they would be upfront with the buyer so that they could have a clear conscience. I'm one of those 'clear conscience' people. I once had a member here offer me a bunch of cards I wanted for about 250 cc. I did my homework and found that the cards were actually worth about 1200 cc. I was upfront with the guy and told him that he was seriously underestimating the value of his cards. He was very glad that I told him. And I know I would be very glad if someone did the same for me. I did pay more for the cards and we both got a fair deal. I actually like treating others the way I want to be treated--with ethics and honesty!

EDIT: I would double-check your cards to make sure you aren't seriously underestimating their value. Your cards aren't "error cards", parallels, serial #'d or some other version, are they?

If the guy is willing to pay that much for it than take it... There's 1 card right now that I am looking for and if I find it, I will pay over book for it if I have to. Beckett's only a guide, just because they say it's worth $10.00, doesn't mean it's not worth more to someone else... Who knows, maybe the guy has it resold for $30.00 so who cares? If you told him it's worth more than what it is than that's not the most ethical thing to do but if he offered $20.00 than I say go for it...

I've overpaid for cards before, and I knew I was doing it. If I want the card in my collection, I'll overpay to make sure I get it and not care a bit.

If it's ebay then I wouldn't feel any guilt and I would say take the money.

Definately do an Completed Auction search for whatever card it is the person wants to buy on eBay and see what they go for there. His generous offer may not be so generous if it's something a lot of people are overpaying for.

People all over the world are overcharging for items for profit. I would over pay for a cards i really wanted and so would others. If the person is going to offer someone a trade that doesnt do any research its their stupidity....

I think Nolan put it perfectly. If you are given an offer by someone understanding of card collecting that seems overpriced.... Just take it. You did not go for the offer, you did not say something to pursway him. It was an offer given to you. I too am willing to do pretty much what ever it takes to get a few certain packer autos.. Even if it means trading well over book to get them.

If the person KNOWS it's a 10 dollar card and offered 20. Take it. But if he doesn't know the value, it'd be appropriate to tell him the value of it.
