2010 Topps Series 2 Value Box [Wal-Mart]
Ugh! Geez! I didn't know Wal-Mart scammed you on the blacks. But now I have learned my lesson. Thought I had a semi-valuable card there with the #650 Dustin Pedroia.
As mentioned, lesson learned.
Now for the REAL cards, I think I did fairly decent.

Well Wal-Mart has their own version of Topps Black. The original hobby Topps black has the actually background behind the player on the black cards. But Wal-Mart's version has the background's blackened out.
The original Topps Black Dustin Pedroia #650 is valued at $25.00 bucks. The Wal-Mart version? I guess a dollar or two.
...so when you go to Wal-Mart and see the 2010 Topps little boxes for $20, they offer you two packs of Topps Black..Just Wal-Mart's version....
Plus the true Topps black cards say '59 years of collecting' in the top right corner of them.Last edited by Merl; 08-27-2010 at 07:14 PM.

Oh those? The black back parallels have been at walmart for the past 2 or 3 years.
The serial numberd black parallels out of .. I think 59.. are numbered on the back, and it's not a black background, just a border.

But I've been told Wal-Mart has their own variation?

They are two separate parallels...one is a Wal-Mart Black Border parallel...the other is the black #/59. It would have been better had the Wal-Mart exclusive parallels been a different color such a blue or red or something different. The back of the card is different as well on the Wally-World cards. They should be the vintage style gray backs while the #/59 version has the same back as the normal cards (white) with the serial number.

Well the 2010 blacks don't have the vintage backs, they have the normal ones. Only reason I knew it was a Wal-Mart variation was because the blackened out background and no '59 years of collecting' in the upper left corner of the card.
For example and excuse the size of the image, please. But the black on the right has the legit background and the emblem. Wal-Mart variations don't.
I was just mentioning the 2010 Dustin Pedroia black goes for 10-25 bucks, but since it is the Wal-Mart variation not much so.
