MLB GTS - PLEASE READ!!
We are 1 week away from Opening Day!! And with that, we will begin our 3rd annual MLB GTS!! :new_Eyecr
I plan to feature at least 1 game daily for the entire season. But, as I did last year, I will be featuring 1 game (April 3rd), 10 games (April 4th), 8 games (April 5th) as SCF's tribute to Opening Day!!
That's 19 (NINETEEN) chances to win CC in just 3 days!!
BUT, IF YOU WANT TO WIN, YOU MUST POST YOUR ENTRY IN THIS MANNER:
Yankees 2-1
Red Sox 2-1
Dodgers 2-1
Angels 2-1
Rockies 2-1
Cardinals 2-1
No matter how many times I ask folks to post entries as above, I always see folks post as they please.
For NCAA, I ask folks to post entries as follows:
NC St 70-60.
Instead, I get:
#10 NC St. 70
#6 WI 60
NC St 70
WI 60
NC St 70 - WI 60
It irks me to the nth degree!!! :new_evil: :new_evil:
So, for these 3 opening days, if you do not post in the correct format, you WILL NOT WIN CC!
Folks, it takes a long time to calculate GTS winners when a bunch of games are featured in one day. Just go back to a GTS game where I feature 4+ games, and try to calculate the winners, and see how long it takes you to do this.
Most folks already know this....but for newer GTS players who decide they'll post entries in any manner they want - BEWARE - you're not getting any CC, and I will ignore the whining PMs asking for CC!

Here is how the tiebreakers work; I will provide an example:
Dodgers vs Angels
Joe puts: Dodgers 5-3
Tim puts: Dodgers 5-1
actual score is: Dodgers 5-2
As you can see, both folks are just 1 away from exact score of the game. So, who wins CC? Here's how the tiebreakers work, in this exact order:
1st: person who guesses exact score of winning team
2nd: person who guesses exact score of losing team
3rd: person closest to exact score of winning team without going over
4th: person closest to exact score of losing team without going over
So, as you can see, neither Joe nor Tim wins from tiebreaker #1, or #2 or #3....
but by tiebreaker #4, Tim is the GTS winner and gets CC.
.
.
.
yes, there are even more tiebreakers
5th: person closest to exact score of winning team, going over it
6th: person closest to exact score of losing team, going over it.
There can only be 1 winner per game...but, I am sympathetic, and if you lose out to tiebreakers 3-4 times in 1 week, I will still give you CC. You just won't be added to the standings.

Hi Andy,
Thanks for reminding me.
As most GTS veteran players know, MLB GTS is the most popular of all GTS games, with 4-5 pages of entries daily.
Remember, if someone picks Dodgers 3-2, anyone who posts that same entry afterwards will get DQed. The first person to post a particular score (ex: Dodgers 3-2) gets sole right to that entry.
when folks post and/or edit their scores after the deadline, I just ignore the entries.
Same thing when folks absentmindedly pick both teams when each is playing against the other.
it's a game for fun, and CC is the icing on the cake.
but folks shouldn't take this GTS so seriously that they start sending PMs filled with curses because they didn't win CC.
To all new GTS players - remember, it's only CC. Your financial life is not affected. It's not like gambling in Las Vegas, where you can lose your house, literally.
If you are disqualified for a GTS - it's not big deal. Just enter the next day. Plenty of opportunities to win.
