I suppose you can report it to your local PO, and notify the carrier, but there's pretty much nothing they can do about it unless it was someone near you that did it.

You can ask your local postmaster if there is anything you can do, but you're basically SOL.

the biggest joke of it all was the note that is printed on the bag from the postmaster. the title of the note was "WE CARE" in big bold letters and it went on how the strive for excellent service... i was just laughing after that.

The same thing happened to me last year. Unless you had it insured, they can't/won't do a thing for you.

Over the past 3 years I have over 200 TTM no responses. Many are to players that I know are normally good signers. I always wonder about the integrity and honesty of some of the USPS workers. That's a lot of $$$ in cards/pictures, shipping materials and postage. That's why I really don't mind getting an RTS back because at least I get a response along with my items. If I have a chance for IP on a player I really want, I always take that option!

The last time I got a "body bag" back from the USPS, it was an 8x10 from Randy Gradishar. The envelope had been burned. It appeared to have gotten stuck in the mechanisms of a sorter or something and caught fire. Half of the envelope and its contents were burned away.

This right here.
I know most people put their own address as the return on a SASE, but I usually throw the athlete's on there in case one got ripped open or something, I'd still know who it's from. I think I'm going to stop doing that, I already use security tinted envelopes (most are).. Not to mention my mail carrier (who very well may be the worst person at their job that I know of) mixes up my mail with the neighbors' once and a while, gotta wonder if he's ever kept anything of mine too..
