Talking 2003-04 Lebron James Topps CHROME RC GRADE?

To Grade, Or not to Grade?

I just picked this guy up today. I was wondering opinions on what you think of whether I should grade this card or not.

This is an actual Scan. The Top/bottom Centering does not look perfect.

Please Post or Reply, What you think I would expect to get on a Grade.

It's really hard to tell from a small scan. I would suggest showing front and back and cropping the scan so we can see the card more up close.

Surface score will be one of your biggest enemies on this one and there's absolutely ZERO way to tell the condition of it from a scan or photo.
Remember this thing will be under intense scrutiny and magnification once it gets to Beckett...
I'd suggest looking at it under a naked light bulb to get a true sense of whats going on.

Edges and Corners on these cards Typically Grade well at least a 9, Surface and Centering is the Tricky Part....Like mentioned by another poster, The Sides look good, the Top and Bottom not so good looks like 60-40 or even 70-30 so i would say no also the surface is very crucial on these, any type of scratch or bubble etc would hurt it, It would probably be worth it to move it ungraded then getting it slabbed and coming back a 8.5 or even a 9 and you won't get any premium from it, Only 9.5's or better pull premiums on these.

I see... the Surface Looks pretty Good to me, No Scratches or bubbles. It looks like straight from pack to case. I would hope the corners and surface would get a 9 or better, as they do appear just about mint. The Centering appears to be the only issue. Unless there is something I am overlooking. I know the grading companies are very very strict on these types of cards, I think because they are pretty durable and strong.

I wouldn't grade it...My guess would be that the centering would already get an 8.5 and it'd be an uphill battle from there on
