Black Ball Point Pen on Baseballs

Are all black ball point pen autos on baseballs guaranteed to fade through time? If no, how do I prevent it from fading? I usually use blue, but the past home stand I only had black pens. The autos are nice and fresh - even in a ball cube. Just wondering for future reference if pen color really does matter for preserving signatures. I researched online, but maybe a more personal opinion on here can give me a better idea on this topic.

    Thanks!

Put any ball in a box away from light and it will reduce the amount of fading significantly. I don't think the color matters as much as the actual ink. I have some black ink balls that are great, some that suck. Same goes for blue.

i dont think the color matters-people just like blue better on baseballs-in a uv protector it should stay good.

I agree with the above posts, it's exposing the ball to light that causes the autos to fade. I do think blue holds up better over time, but if you put your new black autos in a UV-protected case, I don't think you'll have to worry about fading.
