Will reply, since I was just thinking about this the other day, though I'd be surprised if you're interested in starting this forum:
A grammar/technical writing forum. There just isn't a good one out there, despite there obviously being hundreds of thousands of professional writers out there, and millions of people who are not professional writers but who are expected to write well (my field, law, being one). There are so many questions that just don't lend themselves to an easy, googleable answer, that I'm surprised there isn't a really good forum on the subject.

They have an AP's correct grammar and writing book that comes out every year which most people probably use. It'd be nice to use that though.

I always tell people to start with something you really enjoy or have a passion for. That way - you will always have some motivation to work on it. Its also a great way to develop skills - because you will have motivation to try new things and experiment.
Also think about the CMS you'll use. Lots of people use Wordpress and Blogger - but Joomla and Drupal are good to learn because people pay big money for site design if you want to freelance. (Those are 'free' options)
For me, I have a Sports Card site - a couple of websites that help people find jobs, and I want to start a Golf Tips Site and a Bengals Football Podcast. On the surface its a lot of work - but I have fun doing it.
If you have any questions you can contact me anytime. I have been designing websites for fun almost 10 years now.
