    Smudged Auto's

    Are Smudged (not a clean auto, if you dont understand) autographs common? Im watching a current auction that has 2 autos from the same player and Both are smudged! from Asia...

    From my knowledge they shouldnt be common, but who knows if you cant tell that the player autographed it then it might... but also note that thier is Sp authentic sign of the times certified auto bowmans best certified auto so...... that may help

    Oh in that case those are still preatty nice and look to be authentic smudge isnt all that horrible..... If interested go for it

    Obviously it is your call. If the card is not a super low print run ie 75 or less I would hold out for a better autograph!

    Just my 3 cents.

    Same here. Personally, I like my autographed collectibles to have as-neat-as-possible signatures, out of the fear of it affecting the grade/value.

    Therefore, from personal experience, I cannot emphasize enough how when you get autographs at practices/training camps/team functions/etc., BLOW ON YOUR AUTOGRAPHS to ensure that they dry well.

    And I probably wouldn't be so hellbent on that if it weren't for a practice-frequenting friend of mine smudging a Francis auto that was a late Christmas gift for my brother. Thankfully, my brother isn't into collecting as much as I am. But, every time I walk into his room to do the weekly housecleaning, that poor signature makes me wince. :new_Eyecr

    Looks to me like Marion, after signing each one, just tossed them on top of one another before the ink could dry. I bet there are others smeared of this card too.
