1982 Wrestling All-Stars
Anyone have any thoughts on why this set has shot up in value recently? A raw Hogan sold for $860 last week and the week before one sold for $502? I'm not an expert on wrestling cards, but I believe these cards sold for much less just a month or two ago. Any thoughts?
There is a 900-post thread about these cards on another collecting forum without much useful information. You read that correctly, 900 posts.
Here's a BGS 9 Hogan currently on ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/BGS-9-1982-82-WR..._Trading_Cards It's already at $870.
If the price levels are real and sustainable, then I guess the Hogan is one of the 80s most expensive rookie cards along with the 86F Jordan, Bird/Johnson, Ripken, Gretzky, etc., in fact most of those cards do not sell for $500 raw.
So any thoughts?

I don't get it.Beckett lists it at $20.It's not like Hogan is overly popular right now.Is he the only one selling well or is it the set in general?

Ric Flair and Andre the Giant are also selling well, but it's mainly Hogan.

I would like to buy a Flair for my collection, but I can't find them anywhere. I have been to numerous cards shows over the past 2 years and haven't been able to find any. The scarcity may have something to do with the increased selling prices of these cards.
