    Photo or Baseball?

I want to write to Red Sox great Bobby Doerr and request an autograph. I'm having a hard time deciding if I should send a ROMLB or a 8x10 photo. I like both...I know a photo would be easier and cheaper to deal with, but a baseball is easier to display (it's smaller). I know this is a personal preference thing, so please don't give me the "it's your choice answer" because I know that already.

What I want to know is, what do you prefer for your TTM autographs...photos, cards, balls, ect. and why?

I personally like photos as they are easier to see and have more eye appeal. There are usually no- Who did he play for? type questions when people see them

I have ttmed a few 8x10s, a bunch of cards, HOF postcards, index cards, a multisigned book, and baseballs.

I enjoy every bit of my collection but nothing compares to a signed ROMLB in crisp blue BIC. Its just a classic piece and just sticks out more that an 8x10 on a wall(IMO).

That said a strong number two that as time goes on might become my favorite are the HOF plaque postcards. With the plaque and all that entails those cards are incredible. They're iconic, contain the player bio, "pop" to look at, and maintain that classic look. One thing I enjoy asking for and am sometimes fortunate enough to receive is a HOF plaque with an inscription of the player's number. I have a Duke Snider that is signed boldly in blue sharpie and inscribed #4. Of everything I have it is one of my absolute favorites.

Personally, I would send both. He signs everything. But if you had to choose one, I would go with the baseball.

I send cards because they're cheap, I don't care if they get lost, and they can be easily displayed without taking up a great deal of room. Baseballs, I save for IP.

I just got a HOF ball signed and I sort of like the look of that with the HOF inscription. I don't have a ton of room to display pictures and I do like the look of a stack of signed baseballs.

I do not display many of my baseballs at all. I by far have more of my photos framed and hanging. The baseballs are sitting away in a closet and the pictures are at least in photo albums and can be pulled out easier. I think I would lean more to a photo even though it seems baseballs carry more value in certified items.
