2001 Bowman Chrome Baseball boxes
Correct me if my failing mind is wrong, but didn't I read somewhere that the Pujols RC autos were redemption cards? I know my old Beckett says the Ichiro ones were, yet people still list Ichiro as possibly being in the box when they sell them on Ebay.

Yes the Pujols is a redemption. The reason why people on eBay say you can pull something you can't is because they are looking for suckers who don't know that.

See, that's what I thought. So, is there any real reason why anyone would pay more than, say, $80 for that box as opposed to the $600 you see them listed for? If the Ichiro and Pujols are both redemptions, is there anything you can really pull that makes it worth that much?

There are only gold refractors of Jose Reyes and I think Morneau which could bring a good amount (haven't checked to see what they do recently) but you'd basically be a fool to buy these boxes at their current prices and even if they went much cheaper.

do you think these redemptions hold any value? i mean i know they cant be redeemed but im guessing someone would pay for the redemption and consider it an rc or something right?

You should be able to get something for it on eBay just because it is so rare but the problem with the 2001 Bowman Chrome is you don't have the parallels like the later sets do where you could pull a 1/1 of somebody and it be a really good box. They just went up to Gold Refractors so without the Pujols autograph there isn't many big pulls left that you can make the boxes worth it. The boxes should have gone DOWN since the redemption expired but they still sell high to people who don't know it is expired.

its sad that people will do things like that. and of course most people dont pull these redemptions so they have no idea they just spent hundereds on a box for nothing. the only reason i ask is that someday i wouldnt mind getting a box. i wouldnt pay a ton but if i pull a pujols redemption it would be nice to sell it for a little bit.

Funny there are collector that will want the redemption card for there set, master collector will take anything the set to make it compete., i sold the 94 score trade callup A-Rod redemption for 15 bucks a couple years ago.
