Best auto you never asked for.

I know that on a few instances I have had a player or celeb add an autograph from another person without me asking. I sent a Bridge to Tiribithia dvd cover out to one of the young actresses for my daughters and the young lady had one of the others actresses sign it for them as well. My favorite was when I sent one of those three player Topps Total football cards to Jeff Saturday of the Colts. He signed my card and had the other two Colts lineman on the card autograph it as well before mailing it back to me. I had planned on mailing it three times and was thrilled to have it signed by them all. Does anyone else have any cool instances like this that they would care to share with us.

I met former Ohio State LB Anthony Schlegel when he was a senior at Ohio State and asked him to sign a ball and program for me. He told me he would, but that he could also take it back to campus with him and get a few others to sign it...a few weeks later, he handed me my ball signed my himself, AJ Hawk, Ted Ginn, Troy Smith, Bobby Carpenter, and several others!

I have to admit that is an item that would make me drool! Awesome of Schlegel to do that for you.

I had that same deal happen but i remembered your post about this & sent in the same card to Jeff as you did, but i did ask in my letter if he would be so kind as to have Ryan Diem sign it as well.. long story short he did but when i sent it, Tarik Glen had already retired so he wasnt available..

Sent in a 2009 PP Legends, Ashley Force Family card with her Father John on it. someone there must have passed it off to John after Ashley signed it & had John sign it as well. I was very thrilled when i opened it up & saw the dual auto. Was going to re-send it back out the next day to have John sign it. Guess that way, saved me 88 cents worth of stamps & john the time to sign it again..

That says a lot about the Athletes that do that extra stuff for the fans.. Really cool to get that unexpected BONUS if you will, when they return your request..

My biggest surprise came from Johnny Schmitz. I had sent him a couple small customs cards to sign and had also asked his permission to send him a ball to sign. He signed the cards and sent me a little thank you note but never mentioned anything about the ball. Then 3 days later I received a folder from him (he paid for everything & hand wrote all the info) that included two signed 8x10s with a nice note where he gave me permission to send him the ball. Never had that happen before or since!!!!!

Red Schoendienst signed a ROMLB and inscribed it 'HOF 89' just as I requested. I was thrilled because it was my first attempt and he's a tough signer...I look in the bottom of my envelope and there sits a signed card. I was blown away and still am.
