    Mid-90s Saku Koivu Insert

Can someone help me out with something here?

I've come across a Saku Koivu 95-96 Pinnacle Zenith Rookie Roll Call /1200.

I tried to do a little research for this card and it's listed in the SCF OPG as a $40 card.

What's the deal with that? Is it one of those mid-90s inserts that I occasionally hear about as being worth a lot despite not being all that rare, on the surface?

    Here's a scan:

Don't know a whole lot about it. Zenith, for sure, was a higher end set at the time. Makes me think it would have to be worth a couple of bucks, for sure, but $40 ??? I would suspect not. 1200 copies means there's lots of them out there.

Zenith was very high end. 1,200 copies is really not a large amount of cards. One of the reasons that Zenith are high is that their total print run (Total Cases) was never like Upper Deck or Topps were. They were stingy in total printing.

I've never seen this card, not even on eBay. It's obviously collectible.

On a side note, are prices for the OPG on a beta basis only? I don't see anything with my inventory in terms of pricing.

The reason that the old Zenith cards, especially from 95-96, had so much value was because of the insertion ratio. I can't tell you how many packs I bought back then and got nothing but base. The pack price was also on the high end for the time.

it's not worth that much. i got a Todd Bertuzzi from that set too and they sell for peanuts on ebay. some of the BVs for the stuff in the 90's just never gets updated.
