Dryden Memorabilia - ITG Famous Fabrics

    Hey all

Just wondering how much Ken Dryden memorabilia is actually out there.

I dont really look around for these things, but was watching this card on ebay:

Do you think it was a good price?

Quad Memorabilia Dryden / Beliveau / Orr / Cheevers x/9

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=230521592875&ssPageNam e=STRK:MEWAX:IT

I know Famous Fabrics isnt really the marquee product for ITG. And im usually not a fan of the multi sport products, but when you can get stuff like that in the packs ...... im all for people busting it for me and picking up the nice hockey singles in there!

*** NOTE *** I did not win this card

Just wondering what everyone else is thinking!

Not a lot of Dryden anything out there. Memorabilia goes for a pretty great price, considering that there are only 45 memorabilia cards out there and the great majority are /9 or less.

When you look at the names on that card, for it to go for under $200 is a steal, IMO.

Very good price for a Dryden piece. But like with most of his stuff, there's no photo of him. Just a faceless piece of leather. I'm not a fan of the faceless card.

For accuracy though, Famous Fabrics is not ITG. They are Creative Cardboard Concepts (CCC):

From what I understand, Dr. Price is a consultant, but I'm not sure how integrated he is into its hierarchy. . Its supposed to be a wholly separate company from ITG though. They seem to share design elements, so there's definitely some influence.

    Cheers,

    Price owns Creative Cardboard Concepts.

Famous Fabrics is basically an ITG product. Just set up as a different entity for legal liability purposes.

Personally, I love this product and think that the price for that card was about bang on. Most cards from this product sell for very low prices making it a great way to add some nice mem pieces into your collection for great prices.

I see these cards as memorabilia cards; not "sports cards" per se. They are simply a way to get small pieces of mem into our hands. If you need faces and or pictures of the athletes, these are not for you. But consider this - do you tack on a picture of the player on your framed up game-used jersey? Nope. Similarly, these cards are not meant to either. They are mem cards, not picture cards.

Huh... I could have sworn I remember reading Dr. Price made a big to-do about not owning the company.

I will definitely +1 this. Although I don't agree with the "picture on a [full] Game-used Jersey" part. I mean, there's a big different between a 1inch x 1 inch mono colour piece and a full sweater with nameplate, number, patch and wear. Okay, you may not put a photo of the guy next to his gamer, but there's a heck of a lot more to look at on full gamer than these cards.

    Thumbs down

There's a reason that card went low....it's butt ugly.

It's a product of getting around the system, but can you blame them? Lots of money in memorabilia.

Well off topic........my rant of the day.
