What are your favorite sets and subsets?

I am just curious to see what you guys like the most.
I will divide it up by:

    favourite base set/s
    favourite insert set/s
    favourite game-used set/s
    favourite autographed set/s

Since I have not opened any packs or collected much the past few years my choices go back a little. I have based my choices on set design, card quality, value (bang for the buck), and player selection.

favourite base set - I like 03-04 EX - like the acetate and embossed players. I also like topps chrome because of the chrome finish and game action photography with a natural (from game - not the player artifcially imposed on a design) background.

favourite insert set - The 03-04 EX Jambalayas are nice. I also like the inserts from 02-03 topps chrome

favourite game-used set - this is a tough one to choose - I like the 03-04 Bowman Rookie Recall set. I also like the topps chrome GU from 02-03 and 03-04. I have finished the Bowman Rookie Recall set and am trying to finish the chrome game-used sets.

favourite auto set - though I did not open any of this and don't have any I really like the 01-02 topps pristine auto's - very colourful. I also like the 03-04 topps mark of excellence auto's and am trying to finish off the set.

Good choices everyone. Maybe we should divide it by decade; 90's and 2000's?

I like the 96-97 Skybox Autographics (1st year and best design) and the 00-01 TSC Beam Diecut cards/500. They are very nice-looking. The Pristine GU Towel set is a creative idea. I like stuff like that, which is a little different and new.

I've been looking for the LJ from that set. Why it still only books $25, I dont know... They've been going for at the very least $100...

As you know, LJ has very few licensed auto's. There are a few other players in this set who also only have a few licensed auto's. I know the John Starks, Glen Rice, and Jalen Rose auto's sell for well over book due to the fact they also have a limited # of certified auto's and the popularity of these cards.

Beckett is likely unaware of the popularity of these cards or hasn't bothered to update their prices.
