Durant SP Authentic - How High??
What do people think??
There have only been 2 listed in the past few weeks - one at an $800 BIN and one at a$1,500 BIN (both 3 colors)
What's the range here? I've been offered over $675 paypal so even if those other 2 don't sell I've seen that as a legit offer.
What do we think? He's 22, insanely good, better person (so that could trump LeBron)...
LeBron SPA was selling over $1000 last year, was #'d to 500 (Durant is #'d to 299), and Durant is a patch compared to a regular LeBron Auto.
Is $1K the high? Higher then that? Won't reach higher then $800?
Give me some thoughts. Had a bunch of offers on mine but can't pull the trigger - even at a $850 SV offer card.

I don't think they'll really start taking off until he proves he's going to be in the Kobe and LeBron stratosphere for sure going forward. If he puts out an MVP-caliber season again, I think they'll slowly and steadily rise. They will spike if he ever wins an NBA title. I mean, right now can you 100% guarantee he's going to have a better career than Carmelo Anthony? I'm a homer and I can't say yes to that. But Durant is a media darling, so that will help with his values.
I'm a huge KD & OKC fan, but I don't see him as more than a 30 ppg scorer going forward. His supporting cast should keep getting better and lighten the load for him. The frontcourt should start doing its job better, which will cut down on his rebound totals. And he needs to become a better facilitator. Not on a level like LeBron, because Durant is more of a shooter/scorer. But he needs to be able to efficiently spread it around more.
I think OKC's going to win about 50-52 games give or take and be somewhere in the 3-6 range. I think Durant will be just under 30 ppg and will be either 1st or 2nd in the MVP voting. I'd say his value plateaus a little in the short-term, and momentum will start picking up again towards the playoffs. And his value could explode if they ever beat the Lakers and/or Heat in the playoffs.
So short answer, I think $675 is high for now, but not nearly as high as it will get down the road.

IMO he is the best player in the league, meaning I would pick him over anyone to start a dynasty! So in that regard I would keep the card for the long haul but thats just me.

I think Durant prices are at it's peak right now, since he just led team USA to gold in the world championships. If you need cash right away, I do suggest to sell right now for $675, because his cards may drop a little bit during the regular season
In order for his cards to continue to rise, he really needs to out perform himself from last season, and grab that MVP title (which is something I think he can do). As for titles, I think it's too soon for that, the Thunder had a nice run last year and were the surprise team of the year. But now everybody is out gunning for them, it would be interesting to see if the Thunder can handle that pressure.
Also, MVPs and titles are not the only things that make card prices go up, in order for his cards to reach the level of Lebron and Kobe in the hobby, he really needs to market himself A LOT MORE, and he's going to need the help of the media in order for him to be a household name, just so the casual fan would want to buy some of his cards.Last edited by jeebus86; 09-17-2010 at 04:50 PM.

It sounds like 675 is a good number for you already, but you just want more. Oh well, it is up to you how to take risk. If I make good profit on single card, I will just take it. Having cash is better than worrying about whether the card is going up or down in the future.
This is coming totally from an investment standpoint. If you like the card so much, 675 doesn't mean anything to you.

Considering these were $400 cards last year i'd say $675 is a nice offer. I'd take that myself as its money right now. Is it worth the hassle to hold onto it for say another year and worry about selling later on? If yes then keep it
