Boring patches
right up front I want to say this is not a thread about getting all 1 color patches in a product.
I was browsing the UD facebook today, looking at pictures of this years Cup, and started comparing the patches I saw. I've noticed there are just some teams whose logos just don't make for nice swatches on cards, Like the Rangers. when I'm looking to get a new pickup on my Richter PC, I look for the best patches I can find, and I usually don't find very many nice ones.
For those of you who collect teams/players with relatively boring swatches, what do you do to help your collection pop?

rangers don't have the best patches, but they have some of the nicest swatchs. I have tons of 3 color jersey cards including a nice lundquvist 2on2 mvp.

The Hurricanes can have some very boring patches. The best ones, though pretty rare, come from the shoulder patch, as there are many breaks. Here is an example of an upgrade I had a few months back on an Irbe/Barrasso dual patch. The first one is boring and pretty typical of a Hurricanes patch, the second is an amazing anomaly:

The flyers patches are the worst. If you can snag a patch from the dot in the middle of the logo and manage to get black white and orange, then you've got a sweet looking card, otherwise your patches are pretty plain.

That second one looks pretty sweet. My best patch as of right now is fairly ho-hum, I would love if UD or pannini decided to use some alternate jerseys for ranger patches. I'm looking for a richter with the liberty patch, but can't find it

Habs patches can have that too. This year's Cup, though, wow I'm really glad to see that UD has made use of the Centennial and ASG shoulder patches from the 08-09 jerseys.
Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...

Red Wings ones can be really bad too since there's only 2 colours lol.

Oilers are usually pretty plain. When they're taking from the logo - there's only a little bit of orange, some white, and a whole lot of blue. When I can find Ranford patches that include part of the Oil drop, I will - for sure - pay a premium on those ones.

Red Wings patches are notoriously boring. The only way to get one that pops is to get a piece of the winged wheel. Winged wheel pieces, especially from the center of the wheel, always look nice.

Leafs are all blue and white, some silver as well, but large majority blue and white. My favorite patches are ones of lettering on the main crest or from the old school crest that look like real leaves. Here are some small examples of lettering:

Couple in here too, sorry for the small pic:
