I believe that I read he didn't have any cards produced before this. Around his death all of his cards sky rocketed and all were from 2001. Are you sure the stats aren't from college? He went to Arizona State i believe.

It's a Rookie Card because the first year he had any cards made.
It's so valuable because he died.

He was truly a good player..but more important...he was truly a GREAT American.
I find it very eerie that his best card (in my opinion) the 2001 Fleer Tradition Glossy says "Unsung Heroes" on the card. Nothing could be spoken more truly than for this Athlete/Soldier. I have attached a scan of the front of the card so you can see for yourself.
I am sure that everyone is aware of his story...unless we have forgotten already!
I salute Pat Tillman and anyone like him!

Supplystud has inspired me to share one of my favorite quotes.. a little John Stuart Mill for ya...
"War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature, and has no chance of being free unless made or kept so by the exertions of better men than himself."
Tillman was a true American, with a moral character rarely seen anymore. How many of us could honestly turn down a multi-million dollar contract and become an Army Ranger knowing you will be in the line of fire almost every day of your life? That takes more than courage. It takes a heart the size of Montana and a character beyong words. I salute Pat Tillman, and every other fallen soldier. If it wasnt for them, we wouldnt have this great hobby or any of the other freedoms we enjoy every day.
I know this is a sports card site, and Im sure some jackass will say something smart, and a Mod will probably tell me not to write this kind of stuff, but people like Pat Tillman need to be remembered, and people need to be reminded.
