"She Who Must Be Obeyed" and I went to the Padres game Friday night and watched as Gregerson, Adams and Bell shutdown the Reds for the last three inngings, continuing there amazing season.
However, Aroldis Chapman was unbelievable. He threw three pitches against Adrian in the bottom of eighth...first was 101, second was 102 and the third was 103. And...he doesn't even use a full windup. All 25 of Chapman’s pitches were 100 mph or faster, topping out at 105 mph. That's an unofficial major league record.
Watched todays game on Fox and, luckily Chapman was a little more human and Chris Denorfia his a two out double (which Rolen should have at least stopped) to score Chase Headley from first for a second 4-3 win in a row.
With 8 games left in the season...the Padres (who everyone picked for last) are tied with the Giants (who just lost to the Rocks) and a half game ahead of the Braves.
