    When to authenticate autos

When do you guys get autos authenticated? I haven't yet found a situation when the 20 dollar fee is worth it.

Personally I havn't yet. I have stuff I intend to authenticate in the future; but I have no intentions of selling so I don't need a third party to tell me something I already know (the itme is real). I do have some signed jerseys I am going to frame, and I am thinking about having them authenticated. It's more about having the COA and hologram for display purposes rather than for "added value" or any other reasons.

Generally I feel the only time it's worth having authenticated is for resale. If you have a signed item that can get 100 w/o a COA but you can get $200+ with the COA; the authentication price is well worth the investment.

I agree. Authenticity really only matters to the person who owns an item. I know how I obtained my autos and have no questions to their validity. That said if I sold something to some guy he doesn't have that history with the object and red flags might go up. If you want to sell something then its time to get it authenticated because it gives a sense of validity to an item for future owners.

With all the issues you heard about authenticity companies those little stickers mean nothing to me! Why blow the money?
