With season right around the corner I'm not sure if they will go down too much. Everyone is stocking up on his stuff hoping to make some money this season.

I know that during the season, there will be more cards offer in the market but what about the price?

Planning to get more autos (especially MJ) so should I act now or during the season? I think there will be more choices during the season too. (Well, MJ's case may be different since no more new autos in Bulls' uniform. On the contrary, for Lebron, people tend to dislike him more so I think the price of his card is a little bit lower right now although he will not sign more cards in NBA's uniform, no matter on Cavs or Heat for a while)

Only way Durant prices will stay this high is if the Thunder go to the finals every other year for the next decade.

I don't agree with that. If the thunder, as young as they are, go to the finals this year, all the thunder cards would have been a great investment. If durant goes to the finals 5 times in the next decade, his cards are going to be worth a ridiculous amount.

I saw Durant Chronology Stiches in Times Auto (book value for $100) sold for over $600 already. That's crazy.

Not exactly apples to apples - as alot more information is needed.

What Wade cards are you comparing? His basic stuff or high high end stuff? It's not as if Wades Exquisite RC Auto all of a sudden became affordable. Will some Durant cards cool off? Of course - will his SPA Patch (as only 299 exist) or his Exquisite cool off? Doubtful as they don't pop up very often.

Durant is only 22 - his ability to accumulate massive stats, especially scoring stats, is much greater then Wade's ever was. Wade is an "old" 29 the way he plays the game - not to mention that he played 3 years of college ball (while nice - still limits your career by a few years of stats)

Wade also had "injury" plagued years following that 05-06 season. He only started 50 games in 06-07 and 49 games in 07-08. His teams also experienced quite a drop off after that title since they were built as an older team.

Unless Durant gets injured like Wade - or his team experiences a drop off (which they should only get better as a young team) - I'd say the comparison to Wade is pretty far off.
