Thrashers already a potential playoff team?
After the scary collapse, the Thrashers were still able to hold up and win 4-2 against the reining President's Trophy winning Capitals. And, in front of a near sell out crowd! What are your opinions everyone, do you see Atlanta and Tampa Bay giving Washington a run for their money in the South-East and possibly making the playoffs? I understand it's only game one, but Atlanta might become the Coyotes of last season... you never know.

They have a lot of good young players, if they can step up they could be a Coyote-like team this year.

Well they are presently in 5th place so they've got a better chance than a bunch of other teams...
Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...

I think Atlanta and TB both make the playoffs, as Montreal and Ottawa fall out. Both teams are on the rise.

I must be the crazy one. I just don't see what everyone else does in Atlanta. I've got them pegged to be scraping it out with the Leafs & Panthers to not finish last.
(Tampa Bay though, yes! Playoff bound).

I know it's the beginning of the season, but they seemed to just dominate against Washington. Now, Washington does have it's issues like a weaker defense but I seriously think Atlanta is gonna make the playoffs. I see Washington dropping and not winning President's (I believe to Wings will after dominating Anaheim,) Montreal, Ottawa, Buffalo, Toronto, Panthers, Ranger and Isles not making it this year... I just think after seeing how well they played will be a new force in the East as well as Tampa. Especially after winning against the Caps. The Kovalchuck deal may have been a good thing.
I also think the Panthers will move to Quebec too... But that's a different story.
