    Chara's Lifetime Contract

    7 years, $45.5M.

    Takes him till he's 40, $6.5M per season cap hit. For as dominant a presence as he is, that's not too bad.

    As you all know, I'm not a fan of any contract that goes longer than 5 years, and even that is a stretch for anybody that will be over 35 when the deal is done. Too many things can happen that could derail the player's career and make his deal an albatross. Of course, in this case, since I hate the Bruins so very, very much, hopefully this contract will prevent them from re-signing Seguin at some point. LOL
