Devils, 'Hawks, Caps, Pens all lose openers...
I know it's only one game but who saw that coming?
Devils drop $100M for Kovalchuk and lose at home to a team that didn't make the playoffs.
Turco plays well but 'Hawks don't look like the same team. 41 shots to the Avs?
ATL loses their starting goalies and beats Washington
Pens lose the opener in their brand new barn...
Not to mention Edmonton and Toronto both won...
Crazy start to the year - glad hockey is back

Canucks went 0-3 last season and won their division. All that matters is when it comes April where you are in the standings. It's a long season and contenders aren't decided over one game thats why they call it a long season. Eberle is on pace for 82 goals, Toronto is gonna win the cup and Eberle and Hall are the next Gretzki and Messier. I think its pointless to wonder what might happen and just let things unfold because then people just argue over predictions. I wanna see which analyst are actually right when the cup is hoisted in June.

I didn't. I had 25 bucks on Devils and SJ yesterday thinking it was a safe bet.
Great for standings and hockey pools.

It's only the first game, so I'm not worried. Got to give them a little time to get use to each other. During preseason they never really came close to putting the opening night lineup into a game.

Chicago is also slightly overrated, people have them winning the Cup, with that lineup? No, they will do well, but shouldn't be favorites.

I haven't read one place where Chicago is favorite to win the Cup this year. Detroit is more favorite to win it then Chicago.
