    I'm not planning to collect any of this year's rookies. As far as UD and topps go they no longer have a license to produce NBA cards with any pictures of NBA logos, team logos, or trademarks on their cards, as the NBA granted Panini an exclusive license starting in October of last year.

    This leaves them only able to produce cards of players in their college uniforms, basically, so you may see one or two of these kind of sets (like a prospects set or UD Greats of the Game) but that's it. If you want to buy basketball cards with true RCs you have to go with Panini.

    @wrafman,thanks for explaning that

    Panini is not considered a high end product? And did the price of topps/ud go down becuase of the license situation?
    would you say NT is pretty good?

    I think panini cards are junk.. I do not really like anything about their products. I just cannot see in any case where any panini RC card would Beverly really be worth anything, with exception of a Guy or auto of course for obvious reasons.
    Even the absolute low line basic entry level upper deck / topps LBJ Rookies sell for $25.00 & $80.00 all day. Last years panini rookies you could buy just about every players rc from each of the panini series for about 12 bucks. My point is there is not one rookie card from panini that has any real value.

    I think this is a bad move in part of the nba, and could seriously hurt the hobby and hurt the nba in turn as well.
