Damaged PC cards...keep 'em or chuck 'em?

I went back through ALL my cards recently, pulled them out of their sleeves and looked at them all under a naked light bulb.
I was surprised to find that many of the GU's, chrome cards, and base I have received over the years were in pretty poor shape.
Lot's of surface issues, creasing, etc.

    So it got me thinking...

What does everyone do with their damaged PC cards?
Keep? Chuck? Keep until you find a replacement, then throw away?

I ended up only keeping 2 (full blown creases near swatches) of the 30+ that had issues until I can find replacements :

it really depends on how bad of shape the card is i guess.......if it's a huge crease i would most likely chuck it though but i'd keep the jsy pieces and maybe make my own novelty card

like i said, it really depends on how badly damaged the card is and where on the card the damage is.......i'm not a big fan of throwing any type of cards away but i'm also very picky when it comes to my PC items

Right, it's tuff and I guess that's my hangup.
You have say a sweet GU numbered to /50 but it's got a huge crease near the swatch.
It sucks looking at it everyday and you want to ditch it but...
That /50 is holding you back.

First thing I would do, re-evaluate why there are so many cards in these bad condition under my hand. Only can keep 2 out of 30+, that is really really bad. Unless you are very picky on everything, I'm sure not the other 28+ cards are "that bad".

Personally, I dont throw cards out, especially if they are PC. What difference does it make to you as long as your just going to keep it, ya know? I can COMPLETELY understand if you were looking to turn a profit on them, but then again, cards do tend to lose their value when they are sitting in a garbage dump!

    Of course I'm very picky...
Why would I want damaged cards in my collection?

Ohh, I have 300 of so and so's 400 cards but 25 of them have surface scratches, forget that.

We're talking close to 2000 cards in my collection.
I've been web collecting (ebaY) since 1999 and on this site since 2008. 30-40 cards in over 12 years of internet collecting isn't half bad.
Over 20 of those were scuffed base from members here or from Beckett.com & Naxcom.
Add a couple creased GU's from PWE's and I am where I'm at.

I guess this wouldn't happen to me since I already ask for refund when the card is damaged at the first place. I examed every PC card that I get before putting in sleeves.

I wouldn't throw them away. I just put them in another box as double. For cards are easily replaced, I will just go ahead and buy another one. Rare cards are just impossible to get 2 copies, and it is crazy to spend another $300 on the same card again just for a better condition.

I wouldn't ever throw them out. I would just keep them somewhere and find replacements for your PC.
