    Awards predictions

Since a few people around here think it's apt and appropriate to judge the current NHL season based on the results of the opening week, I felt it only fair to offer my early awards picks:

    Hart: Derek Roy (unstoppable!)

Art Ross: Derek Roy (see above)

Richard: Derek Roy (see above the previous "see above")

Lady Byng: Tough to narrow it down from 300 candidates to just one winner...but I'm going to go with a Sedin. Maybe Daniel.

Vezina: Khabibulin (.969 save percentage? Unbelievable!)

Selke: Any of the Dallas Stars forwards who are presently +3

Jack Adams: Tom Renney (who else? He has turned the Oilers completely around!)

Calder: Derek Stepan (more goals than Eberle, Hall, MPS, Carlson and Ennis combined. EAT IT, rookie crop!)

    Presidents' Trophy: Oilers

    Stanley Cup champs: Oilers

I'm pretty sure these will hold up.

I second all of these...except the 2nd Selke Trophy....

hahaha aweome thread. D. Roy may not win any awards but he is going to have a heck of a year. He just looks absolutely possessed every time he touches the ice this year and with Ennis he looks unstoppable :)

Just take a look at some of his goals so far, the one tonight was pretty nasty if you ask me!
