    Patrick Roy Memorabilia Cards

I could probably just send a direct PM to Karine on this one, since she's likely to know, but hey, that would be less fun for the rest of us.
I have noticed that for the past year or so, regardless of what team colours he's wearing, on all his UD memorabilia cards St. Patrick has Colorado jersey swatches on them. Has UD run out of Montreal jersey pieces for him? I would *think* that if they were conserving them they'd be doing so for high-end releases like The Cup and/or Ultimate Collection but everything I've seen to date has been Avalanche stuff.

    Anybody know the scoop?

It would make sense. His Habs days were before the "jersey boom".

Game worn jerseys didn't get really big, until MeiGray started their affiliation with the NHL, I want to say that was like 2001, 2002 or so?

Around that same time teams really started realizing the value of these things.

I know most teams always had the standard 2-3 sets but it could have been bigger than that for anyone and we'll never truly know because teams can do what they want in house without registering every last jersey in the MeiGray database.

For example, the local Avalanche wore a TON of jerseys in 2000-01 during their last Cup season.

I think each of the star players (Forsberg, Sakic, Bourque, Roy) had at least 7-10 sets of jerseys each that year. That's 14-20 each multiplied by 2.

Some of those guys used to give jerseys away to friends in town (I know Forsberg did this occasionally) or wear extra one's for charity events, etc.

It doesn't surprise me if that's the case. You'll likely continue to see a lot of the aforementioned Bourque coupled with Av's stuff for the same reason, more Av's jerseys during his time with the team and the fact the game worn market exploded coinciding with his years here.

I think 2008-09 was the last year where we saw some memorabilia pieces from his days in Montreal, example:

After that everything sounds Colorado jersey.

Not sure if I can add anything to the discussion here, but this year I pulled a BTP 09/10 complete Jersey of Roy with all Montreal colours.

BTP is made by ITG, it is different than UD
