These spring-enhanced shoes were featured on our local SoCal broadcast news, especially since the shoe company is based in Chino, CA (about 60 miles east of Los Angeles). The shoe company owners seem to be really milking the "Banned in the NBA" thing.
Health-wise, it's probably best for the players not to play in these shoes. If the players jump higher, their feet may risk damage from the increased downward impact of landing. That's why players hang from the rim after dunking--it softens the blow of landing. The league and fans want healthy players. It just wouldn't do to unnecessarily risk injury to the players.
Still, I wonder how many college and high school programs will permit these shoes...Last edited by SingleDaddyof2; 10-20-2010 at 05:18 AM.

I tried a tester of these shoes a few months ago as the prototypes were all "Made In China" as per usual, I did not feel much of a difference with the 2 1/2 weeks I had them. Of course, there is no substancial impact in such a short period of time and they are bulky. I believe in just skipping rope, working out just like normal humans do would help any vertical instead of using this, and esp at this price tag, ugh.
