destroy UD's? you can't be serious? every base card from UD has a little blurb on it with player info. then you have people that bash on UD for not being specific enough with the info on the back of the GU cards and Panini's "The enclosed game worn material is guaranteed by Panini America, Inc." is good enough? Panini is even more vague in their legal speak. If they ever screw up jersey/patch swatches, they can actually use a "We never stated it was <insert player name>'s jersey on that card" defense.

Dude, I am talking about Panini adding some text to their GU and AU cards, something about the player's career.

UD does not do this on their GU/AU. That is what I meant.

Comparing GU to base or how memorabilia is "authenticated" is irrelevant here.

I like that as well but really what Panini did is not change anything on the back from the base card to the auto or memorabilia card. They are the same.

Would you rather have text on the back across the board talking about the player or both versions, text on base and parallels and certificate of authenticity on GU/AU?

What if a kid only collects GU and AU and never uses the internet, doesn't have access to mass media? They'll never have anything to read or learn about their players?

When I was a young kid collecting cards in the 80's, some of my friends called me "Stat Man" because I could recite the numbers and give them factoids about each player I read off the back of trading cards.

    Man, those were good times.
