Question - Carey Price Jersey Material
I saw this today on the eBay: http://cgi.ebay.com/CAREY-PRICE-10-11-CERTIFIED-FABRIC-JERSEY-250-/120636469026

The swatch on this looks to be a pretty light blue compared to most Canadiens swatches, almost looks like an Avalanche swatch.
There were the Centennial throwback 1909-10 jerseys which did have a lighter tone to them.

It could be the scan, of course.
Thoughts? Input from Panini?Last edited by RGM81; 10-20-2010 at 01:25 PM.
Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...

Haha...knew those would cause a bit of a stir. Nice bit of detective work, RGM...that's exactly the jersey I used. I picked it specifically because I knew it would create some unusual swatches for Price collectors. Also purchased a couple other heritage sweaters of various Canadiens, so if you see green or blue or unusual red swatches, you'll know that's their origin. Hope you like it.

And there you have it.
Nice eye by Richard and awesome of Mr. Muir and staff to get some "specialty" type sweaters for inclusion in their products.
Al, if you're reading this, did I see what looks like a Crosby powder blue alternate acquired and was cut up as well?

Now that is just awesome!!! Richard and I both figured those jerseys would have been sold for a lot of money and it was unlikely those were used but wow!
Auction has ended, did you buy it Richard?Last edited by Pheebs888; 10-20-2010 at 05:08 PM.

One HUGE positive for Panini.
The company has money.
This means they will likely not only have authentic, player-specific materials, they will have quite the array of specialty type sweaters from All Star events, etc, etc, etc.
Yeah buddy!

Well the Canadiens web site wanted 2200 for them I believe, may have been 2700, I passed.

My hat goes off to you, Al. That is truly incredible that you guys were able to get your hands and scissors on that jersey. They only wore those once, so it is a very rare find indeed! As a collector all I can say on this is thank you!
I did not but I've got a Team Cut /25 that I just purchased. No word on whether it's those colours or not but here's to hoping.
It's a good day.

Like many of you already know, I've been a collector for nearly 40 years, so I understand what makes for a cool card. When there's a chance to pick up a unique sweater that will allow us to create something different, I'll do it. And yes, we did get the Crosby, Malkin and Fleury baby blues. A few other surprises to come, too.
And hopefully you'll notice that we've minimized the use of white swatches. Single-colour pieces are part of the game, so whenever possible, I've gone for the dark sweaters. Always preferred a single-colour red, blue, black, green or whatever over white myself, and I think most of you do, too. It's a little thing, but we're trying.
