    Worst Counterfeit Ever? KD35 edition....wow

just a horrible attempt here, and the worst part is someone bought it for $100:

    http://cgi.ebay.com/2007-08-SP-Kevin...item2eb0725862

Here are two examples of real ones:

    http://cgi.ebay.com/2007-sp-rookie-e...item1e5f301e08

    http://cgi.ebay.com/2007-08-SP-Rooki...item43a1f71f2b

    A few things to notice:

    1. The autograph very clearly is off from what Kevin Durant's Autograph looks like
    2. The sticker in the fake goes a good way onto the "premier" on the left side of the card, while the others line up perfectly with the column.
    3. Last but certainly not least, the autographed version of this card has white fade on the bottom of the card, for better autograph visibility. The two real ones have it...but the fake one doesn't.

It would appear that the card is just a normal base kevin durant with a homemade sticker and forged autograph placed poorly. Does anyone on here have some info about a rare version of this card that has never been seen before, or can we all pretty much safely assume that its a fake? And if it is a fake, is there anyone we can report it to on eBay so that maybe the guy can get his money back or they can keep the seller from selling more fake cards in the future?

I do feel bad for the buyer. But if you're going to drop serious money on a card, you have to do your homework. How someone who did research, even casual browsing, could see this and think it was legit is beyond me.

    4. The back of the fake card will never mention anything about "autograph from Kevin Durant". <- THIS IS THE MAIN POINT. Ask for the back picture, not just determine by the front side.

Your 3 points are good, but not good enough. I can easily spend extra 5 minutes to make the fake card look perfect. The back is not possible to fake it.

As terrible and pathetic as that fake is, it's hard to feel sorry for the buyer for a) not having any clue as to what a Durant auto should look like and b) paying that much for a shocker when there are real ones for just a tiny bit more..!

Yes, thats pretty sad. However.,..what is even more Sad, is when I bought a real one off of this site, along with a Bowman Chrome RC, and the guy took my money and ran.

The real ones have gold foil stamping. The base (fake one in this case) have silver foil stamping. UD does that a lot.

Gotta agree with ISO NJ 30 G.
