"UD, I bought a pack of UD Artifacts yesterday at the quickie store here in brockville, ONT, I buy these packs all the time for the inserts, i need like twelve cards to complete the set, but when I busted the pack open the card that was supposed to be an insert was just a blank piece of cardboard cut the axact same size... as the rest of the cards, Was just wondering if this is normal cuz i feel like i got ripped off!! lol anyways looking to here form you"

Here are the responses.

1. That is called a decoy. Not every pack will have an jersey or patch card. Decoys are placed in the product to prevent dishonest people from successfully "pack searching."
2. never herd of that i'm an honest card collector, i should be reimbursed or sent a replacement. I've been collecting for over a year and I have never heard of that! (also the orginial Poster)
3. Not sure how you've never heard of it.. I get get them more often than Jersey cards lol

Funny. Not many of the retail packs have decoys anymore though. Usually just a few per box. Cardboard is expensive you know....lol.

Decoys aren't as prevalent in Canada as they are in the states... It's a lousy feeling to see that pasty white piece of cardboard from the side when you crack open the pack

ya whats up with those black peices of cardboard in my packs i've opened? if they where what they where supposed to be, i'd have a whole bunch of jersey/patch/mem in my bucket for trade :)
