    Question About Buying a Website

I was just curious if anyone here has any experience with it. Basically I'm wanting to buy a .com website that doesnt exist. (i checked it and it isnt owned by anyone nor is it an actual website)

How do u go about buying it? I know there is godaddy.com etc etc but I wasnt sure if thats for something else.

So basically if there is a www.blahblahblah.com site that i wanna buy how would i go about doing it? (and no that isnt the site i want ha!)

What you are looking to do is buy an available domain name (website name) via a domain name registrar. Many webhosting companies also act as a domain name registrar. Google "buying a domain name". That will get you started on the homework you need to do learn about buying a domain name and getting it hosted. Make sure you read lots of reviews of domain name registrars and webhosts. Stay away from a domain name registrar named "Internic"--they have an unsavory rep.

One thing to know is that their monthly fee, is 1 year upfront. When i bought my sites i didnt take this into account when factoring in my vbulletin licenses and all that.
