Detroit Tigers fans have lost a few legends already in 2010, would be horrible to lose yet another.

Sparky is a true legend and was once a great baseball mind. Hope that things improve for him.

Unfortunately, there is no improving from dementia. I just hope he has peace and doesn't suffer. Baseball won't find a better human being- ever. Sparky is a legend even if you take away his baseball accomplishments, which are vast. He's just a much better person than he ever was a baseball manager.

He's been such a kind signer and friend to our hobby for years and years. I hope he has a peaceful passing.

I feel like a real as$hole for being upset that he sent my cards back unsigned with a note saying he can't keep up with requests last week...
As a med student I agree that he is not going to get better, but that won't stop me from saying a prayer and sending all my best wishes to him and his family.
