Let's keep the comments about Crosby fighting, and whether stars should be fighting, instead of about one another, please.
Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...

Awesome fight from Crosby! I haven't been watching the highlights the past couple of days so this is the first time I saw or heard of it.
Personally, I think it's okay for star players to fight once in a while. In this case, the Penguins were down 4-1 and Morrow dropped the gloves with non-fighter Letang. Crosby was probably frustrated beyond anything.

The league has awarded the Pens over 70 PP's this season. He should only be frustrated in himself.
Now, let's look at whom he chose to fight. Hmm....... Matti Niskanen. He would have had a tougher scrap from Agnetha Faltskog from ABBA.
Crosby should have taken on Ott, if he thinks he's a tough guy.
Bottom Line..... Crosby would never fight a North American that he couldn't JUMP, or he would never fight somebody his own size from North America, or somebody who's tougher than himself.
He takes on a calm, even-tempered Swede that as far as I know, could go his entire career without fighting again, if not for Sid the tough guy.
Crosby needs to stop acting entitled.
How did he act entitled? Entitled to fight? Everyone is entitled to fight and in this case he showed some emotion after Morrow dropped the gloves with Letang. That is part of what a leader does. If Crosby never dropped the gloves in his career, we would here comments of how weak he is and hear even more comparisions to him and Gretzky in the sense that he is a great point getter but can't handle his own battles. Basically no matter what he does, somebody won't be happy. If you even compare to Ovechkin, Crosby can say he's fought 4 or 5 times, Ovechkin can't say a word.
As for taking on Steve Ott, he has a few dozen fights under his belt and had fought guys like Carcillo. That doesn't sound like a fair tilt to me. If that's the case, Ovechkin should drop the gloves with Chris Neil with the way he throws his wreckless body around. In terms of size, Crosby is 5'11", 190lbs. and Niskanen is 6'0", 199lbs. I'd say Niskanen was a fair size for Crosby to go after.

Niskanen is a US born player, not a swede. He also has had 3 fights in 3 seasons.
