Upper Deck Series 1 - By The Numbers
Decided to crunch the numbers for Upper Deck Series 1. (Was really curious how many of each YGs Retro there are).
Finally had a look at the actual odds.
We know that Regular Set Parallels are 1:48 packs (2 Boxes). This includes both Exclusives (#/100) and Exclusives Spectrum (#/10).
250 cards x 100 Copies = 25,000 Cards.
250 cards x 10 Copies = 2,500 Cards.
27,500 Cards x 2 (get 1 every 2 boxes) = 55,000 Boxes
55,000 Boxes = 1,320,000 Packs
55,000 x 6 = 330,000 total YGs. 50 in the set means there are approximately 6,600 copies of each YG.
55,000 Boxes, and Retro Regular cards are 1:5. This means there are 264,000 total of the Regular Retros (#s 1-200) which is 1320 copies of each Retro Regular.
Retro YGs are 1:48. This means there are 27,500 total Retro YGs (#s 201-250) which makes 550 copies of each Retro YG.
1.32 million packs means there should be 528 copies of the Brodeur 'Missing Link'.
Without a complete checklist (UD doesn't have one posted yet. I haven't seen one anywhere else) I can't go any farther. Once a checklist is posted - these numbers can be "checked" a little better by using the Acetate cards. All of them are #ed, and we know that combined they fall ever 288 packs.
Only problem with my numbers, it doesn't factor in retail packs. If the Tins are just 8 packs each from the same run of 1.32 million packs - my numbers should be pretty accurate. If they're a separate run, then some of these numbers go up.

Yeah, those Retro ygs are popping up like flies. I will hold of getting the Oilers ones for now. They looks pretty sweet though. I can't wait for the World Junior set in Series 2!

With 550 of each (and maybe more, if they're in retail AND retail is a seperate run of packs) I think I'm going to try for a set. Should only be 3 of them that are very expensive.

Because they're clever, I'd wager that there's 551 of the Missing Link Brodeur.
Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...
