In my personal opinion:
Absolutely:
Paul Pierce (Just look at the stats).
Dikembe Mutombo (First 4x Defensive MVP, led the first 8 vs 1 upset (Denver over Seattle) in Playoff History, and renowned humanitarian )
Alonzo Mourning (multiple all-star, DPOY, got his chip, AND fought back from kidney disease to do so)
Cusp:
Mark Jackson (Absolutely a lock if he had won it in Indiana with Reggie)
Kevin Johnson (See above, but change Indiana to Phoenix and Reggie to Sir Charles)
Chris Webber (Has solid stats, but no championships, and the NCAA scandal clouding him)
Mitch Richmond (Injuries and poor team finishes hurt him)
Chauncey Billups (Probably has best shot in this section, but was never really "the man" on a team)
Dennis Rodman (I want him in, but he may have burned too many birdges with his antics)
Grant Hill (absolutely if injury years hadn't derailed monstrous production)
Anfernee Hardaway (See: Grant Hill)
NO:
Shawn Kemp (GOD of Illegitimate children flamed out quick after he left Seattle. An example of drugs killing careers.)
Stephon Marbury (Great scorer but wore out his welcome at every stop)
Tracy McGrady (Simply put: NO PLAYOFF VICTORIES ... and the last 2-3 yrs have been AWFUL statistically)
Ben Wallace (Probably one of the most interesting cases on this list. Has the 4x Defensive POYs like Mutombo, but NEVER developed an offensive game whereas Deke had his baby hook. He does have a championship, but also some very poor production years at both ends of his career)
Glen Rice ( Im just not quite sure the body of work is entirely there...)
Vince Carter (The WHOLE DAMN WORLD was ready to embrace him as the next hoops God, and after he missed that jumper in the playoffs against the 76ers his star has fallen. I can never get over just how damn lazy and apathetic he looked (frequently, I might add) at the end in Toronto and in NJ)
Dont know:
Larry Johnson (I am not old enough to have seen him in his prime)
Tim Hardaway (Same reason)
Rod Strickland (same reason)
So yall can correct me if Im wrong. As I said, this is just my personal opinion :-)

My take on who will get in...
Chauncey Billups - Maybe(Making teams better doesn't show up in the box score)
Vince Carter - Yes(His name is bigger than his accomplishments but stats are good enough to get him in)
Anfernee Hardaway - No(Injuries killed his stardom)
Tim Hardaway - No(I want him in but not sure the body of work is good enough)
Grant Hill - Yes(Was truely "The Next MJ" til injuries hit him.Still going strong and may be the nicest athlete ever. He's in, imo)
Mark Jackson - No(9 PPG & 9 APG doesn't sound like a HOFer to me)
Kevin Johnson - No(Very good.Not great)
Larry Johnson - No(See "Penny")
Shawn Kemp - No(Don't do drugs children.Umkay?)
Stephon Marbury - No(The Bizzaro Chauncey Billups)
Tracy McGrady - No(Last few years knocked him out of the running)
Alonzo Mourning - Yes
Dikembe Mutombo - Yes
Paul Pierce - Yes
Glen Rice - No
Mitch Richmond - No(Great player.Bad teams)
Dennis Rodman - No
Rod Strickland - No(See KJ)

I say the same thing in the baseball HOF discussions every year... it is the hall of fame not the hall of pretty good... If people like Mark Jackson and Rod Strickland get in think about the players of old who didnt get tv time that would be in....

For real. I guess my only memories of Mark Jackson are that series against the Bulls in '98 dropping all those dimes. I didnt realize he only had 9ppg on the career...

Rodman deserves to be a Hall-of-famer.......Come on!!! 5 NBA championship rings and probably the most prolific rebounder in NBA history......period

The players above were mentioned on other sites as HOF canditates. So I figured I'd add them to the list to see if anyone else thought so.I think most of them are a NO but I wanted other opinions
