ttm canada returns
How many folks on here have sent to athletes/ celebs in Canada & just added a buck or 2 to cover stamps for the recipient to put there own stamps on & has this worked?
kinda in a bind, might be working out a deal for some Canada stamps but if it does not pan out, wondered if i through in a buck or 2, if the person would use there own stamps to send it back. Have heard of successes with this method but im not sure about it. Would hate to inconvenience the recipient, also without proper SASE they may trash the cards or hold on to them & give them away or whatever & i would never see them again. Think i got plenty TTM's out now that i will not see again, Dont need anymore lol.. just want to make sure i do the right thing when sending up north..
what do you guys think???

It is a risk/reward type of thing. I have heard of celeb/athletes paying the return postage. I've even seen a few where they returned the money for the postage.
With that being said, it can go just as easily the other way and you'll never see your stuff again.
I once sent to an actor via his agency in Los Angeles. I knew he was in Canada filming and tried to avoid sending it there; figured that whenever he got back to LA he may get it. Here, they forwarded it to him. He sent me back the stuff, paid for the postage himself. Still one of my favorite successes.

My only experience with TTM across the border was with Guy Lafleur. I included an SAE (self-addressed envelope) and a US dollar for return shipping. Worked just fine!

he's #1 on my north of the border list. Incredible signer. Must have i believe. Makes me nervous... My luck has been pretty terrible lately.
Did you include a note explaining the $1, or no note?

At the end of my letter I believe I added a note something like, "I've included $1 for return postage as I have no access to Canadian stamps," or something of the sort. Worked just fine, and I got my card back in a little less than a month.

Might give it a shot, Lot of those Hockey players that live up north tend to be really great signers.. Might try a few of them..

Also, if you have ever traveled to our cousin's up north, US $$ is pretty much good anywhere. I'm sure a lot of them have Canadien postage sitting around like we do our stamps. I wouldn't see it as much of a hassle on their end.
