Everyone Can Play Hockey

When you are the parent of a child with a physical disability, you often find yourself mentally changing your expectations or altering your goals for your child. It happens without thinking, but the mind will sometimes go in the direction of limitations, instead of thinking about what they are truly capable of. I have to admit to being guilty of this myself on occasion, as I am on this journey of raising a six year old little girl who needs a walker to ambulate and cannot stand independently.

yesterday was Armed Services Day at the Bruins game. For the ceremonial puck drop a young veteran on a hockey sled with no legs got to drop the puck. It was awesome to see. he plays sled hockey. It was an awesome moment.
