Score issue. Damaged cards & something disgusting.
Well after busting my 1st 3 boxes I have a problem and I will be phoning Panini Customer Service tomorrow. 2 of the 3 boxes were nearly identical with rookies, inserts, and parallels. How identical I'll have to go through and do a break down but just from my memory I'd say over 80% the same.
Also got a few damaged cards including 1 rookie card with 2 indentation marks on the surface while a few had cut lines on them and the worst was 1 rookie card had a piece of someone's snot stuck on it which made it stick to the base card in front of it. I had to pick it off to get the cards unstuck (seriously I wish this wasn't the case and I was joking)!
Maybe was from one of these "quality control cases": http://paniniamerica.wordpress.com/2...-score-hockey/
Anyway will be calling Panini CS tomorrow about these issues.
At least my 1st box of the Score was AMAZING (Sno Globe Broduer and 20th Anniversary Rookie PK Subban) and lead me to buy 2 more boxes only to be upset and disappointed.

Unless you've done some DNA testing there, I have a hard time buying your assessment of the "sticky substance." Chances are it was fugitive glue. Not as disgusting, but certainly unfortunate. Call CS and I'm sure they'll be happy to replace your rookie.

Al maybe your right but from what it looked like from experience my initial reaction right away was what I posted above. (not going into too much detail here) If it was glue why was is orange/brown? Will be contacting CS though as I said I reacted by picking it off as it was causing the rookie to be stuck to the base card above it.

If you saw it and pulled it yourself Barrie you would have had the exact same reaction I did buddy. Really I was shocked. Glue seems like a more reasonable explanation but I'm still not sure. Again as I scrapped it off to separate the cards I ended up smearing it on the card. Will have to go back through the packs and find it.

Okay Al it was definitely glue.
However 2 of my 3 boxes had all glossy cards with scratches or cut lines on them, 1 of my 3 boxes had surface damage to all 18 rookie cards and was missing the 20th Anniversary card while the other had the 20th Anniversary card damaged along with a couple rookies and all glossy rookies.
My good box was really good and convinced me to buy 2 more! Big mistake! Until I find out how Panini deals with issues I may have to hold off on buying any more Panini products as talking with the CS reps on the phone is really rushed and they push you online. I'd rather talk to someone over the phone like Upper Deck CS which I'm finding I like better than Panini so far. We will see though.
Also all 6 1/2 boxes of Certified I bought and no damaged cards and all great hits. I'm putting that huge set together so I love Panini cards but not when it is such a hassle to send all the damaged hits of a low end product! Wastes a lot of my time to fill out the forms they have online. Going to return the damaged cards to the store I bought the 2 boxes from and then they'll send them to their distributor who will then send them to Panini. I don't want to deal with it! I have the receipt, both boxes with box #'s, and all foil pack wrappers.Last edited by MatsSundin13Rocks; 11-21-2010 at 01:50 AM.
