Possible Set Idea..
I was just thinking about this earlier and I thought I'd see what everyone here thinks. I know in football, since UD lost their license, they've been doing their sets where all the pictures/jerseys are from college and its like they are college sets for the current pro players.
What if they did something like this in hockey? I'd be really interested. I know MANY of the big stars in this league didn't attend college so it may not be the most valuable set, but there are a lot of players who played at colleges and came to be really successful in the NHL.
Am I the only one who would be interested in a set idea like this?

Well, it's not a full-on set but Panini recently did something like this with their Big Men on Campus subset in Certified. It's a pretty cool little set with some decent names in it.
Also, while not college, ITG does the next best thing with Heroes and Prospects that delivers memorabilia from the players' junior years.
Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...

I know about ITG and the heroes and prospects, but I didn't know about the Panini set. I'm going to have to check that out.

I'd definitely love to see this. I know, as Rich said, Panini did the Big Men On Campus set, but I'd love to see some college memorabilia paired with pictures of players from their college days. I'd definitely go after the cards of some former Michigan State greats like Ryan Miller, Justin Abdelkader, Rod Brind'Amour, David Booth, Duncan Keith, and John Michael-Liles among others. While I know all of those former Spartans wouldn't be included in a set, it'd definitely be one I'd consider putting together. While most of the talent in the NHL typically comes from the CHL and overseas, there have been some amazing players to graduate from the US collegiate hockey ranks. It seems like a set ITG could put together very nicely, maybe pairing a picture/jersey of the player on their current team along with a picture/jersey from their respective alma mater.
