    GDT: Calgary @ NY Rangers - 11/22/2010

    From NHL.com

    FLAMES (8-10-1) at RANGERS (11-9-1)

    TV: SNET-W, MSG.

    Last 10: Calgary 2-7-1; New York 5-5-0.

Season Series: This is the lone meeting between the teams. They last faced each other on Nov. 7, 2009, when Miikka Kiprusoff made 32 saves in Calgary's 3-1 win at Scotiabank Saddledome.

Big Story: It's been a frustrating season thus far for the Flames, who blew a 4-2 lead in the third period Sunday en route to a 5-4 overtime loss at Detroit. The tying goal came at 19:56 by Henrik Zetterberg before Nicklas Lidstrom won it at 1:38 of the extra session.

    Team Scope:

Flames: Penalties were a major reason why Calgary couldn't seal the deal on Sunday night; the Flames were hit with 10 infractions – including four in the first period and five in the third. Detroit converted 3 of 7 power plays and also killed off a key four-minute Calgary power play after Todd Bertuzzi was called for interference and unsportsmanlike conduct at 8:02 of the third.

That happened just after Alex Tanguay made it 4-2 for the Flames.

"We've got to be smarter and we've got to find ways to stay away from the penalty box," Tanguay said. "We're up 4-2 , we had a four-minute power play and the power play's been scoring the last three games. We had a chance to bury them and take care of our destiny and we didn’t. Not much else you can say."

Rangers: After being blown out by Colorado on Friday night, New York responded in a big way with a 5-2 win at Minnesota on Saturday night. Five different players found the back of the net for the Blueshirts, while Dan Girardi had two assists and Martin Biron made 26 saves.

"You'd like to think we're developing a little bit of mental toughness in trying to grind through and stop the bleeding after a game like (Friday) night," coach John Tortorella said.

Who's Hot: Flames captain Jarome Iginla had two more goals and an assist Sunday night, giving him five goals in six points in the last two games. … Brandon Dubinsky leads the Rangers with 12 goals in 21 games.

Injury Report: Flames forwards Daymond Langkow (neck), Ales Kotalik (knee) and Raitis Ivanans (head) are out, as is defenseman Adam Pardy (shoulder). Olli Jokinen will also serve the final game of a three-game suspension. … The Rangers are without Vinny Prospal (knee), Chris Drury (finger) and Michal Rozsival (shoulder).

Stat Pack: Iginla scored more than one goal in a game on Friday night against Chicago for the first time since his hat trick against Minnesota on March 7 of last season. In the 34 games played between the hat tricks, he'd managed just five goals. … Saturday's win was the 300th of Tortorella's coaching career.

Puck Drop: "You've got a two-goal lead and a four-minute power play and take a slashing penalty 200 feet from our net. We got a point, but we certainly should have had two tonight." -- Flames coach Brent Sutter
