New photobucket layout....

Wow. I understand the site has had problems every once in a while, and I've been mad at the site before.....but this is ridiculous. They literally made EVERYTHING harder to get to and harder to do.

It takes longer to upload stuff. It takes longer to get to sub albums. They made they thumbnails smaller. They don't arrange albums alphabetically anymore, but instead by when you last uploaded something to that album. The font is even horrible. Not to mention their little video they play when you try to upload a photo (at least on my computer) makes the plugin crash and I have to reload the page, then re-upload the photo.

What the hell were they thinking? This 'new' layout is absolutely terrible on every level. I can't be the only one who feels this way, can I?

you are not kiddin'. between changing the layout and making it harder to browse around, i have two words for photobucket - "Suck IT". not to mention that when you click on someone's bucket link in their Signature, it takes you to a blank screen. I noticed that i had to go back into my Signature and re-paste my bucket link so it would work. I don't mind change but this is crazy. sometimes they should leave stuff how it is. I am so liking the old version, but I guess we have to learn to deal with it.

You can't crop pictures though and it leave the imprint on your photos so you wouldnt be able to use the photos on other sites or on ebay.

I personally go through photobucket first then go to the scf inventory thing..I agree this new photobucket is awful though

The new free SCF Inevntory is not perfect but does so much more for card collectors as they are searchable, not just one bucket from one person but all members inventory can be search at once. You can manager trader, PC and a want list all in one. No text to type, just search the card and add it. All cards now carry all the card information (year set name, crad number, player and card attribute. You can then search bucket of a specific member or all member. Each member have their own public section and no need to be a member to see and query the public inventory page.

You can search for True 1/1 since we already set all card print run. Finding cards in this inventory is much faster then finding card in indivial bucket even if well organise. Much faster to manage and soon I want to let multiple card upload soon. Now upload is one by one but if you select cards, soon it will let you find images for all selected cards. We want to keep imporoving it and you has members will all have a say in making it better. We created a feedback forum to hear all suggestion. We enter the new sets from new release for all major sports as fast as possible and that same forum can be use for request.

I am the only programmer on the inventory/Storefront project, alonf with Mike Silvia, SCF's owner and andrewcstein the OPG/Storefront Manager, we are always open to suggestion. This is a community project and if our member undertand it made for card collector and start to use it massively, I can assure you will be able to make sales and more trade and find more cards to buy.

Also log or not loged, THERE IS NO PUBLICITY, to me, alone this make the application much more friendly, efficiant and you have a say in how we can improve it ONLY to make it better.

We will soon offer single page per card entry, like we do for the storefront and search engine will pick them all up much better then any free image hosting site. Here, no text to type other then the search text. Mainly we manage the SCF OPG database for you and members only need to report errors and missing cards/sets to us so we can fix it. So if members start using it more, we can make this project grow in the right direction and provide much more to our member.

Also any member can user the OPG/Inventory/Storefront feedback forum to post on possible modification. We can discuss it and maybe be convince to even change existing feature. It's our tools we are open to discuss any changes. I would say that the owner, OPG manager and I have to be convice to make the change but since the project started, I can tell you the feature in the free inventory as kept growing and we have been adding many things.

The only publicity is the watermark on the image. Would this be lifted in the paid inventory, I would most certainly consider it. Maybe the advance Inventory could be a vip feature, nothing as been decided yet and if member adopt it and make strong representation, I know Mike can change his mind too!

In a way, it's up to member tp adopt it. The storefront will be cheaper then the competition and there will be zero listing fee. Pay only if you make a sale. We want to be able to cover the server cost and upgrades so the project remain a success. But the free feature alone will cover a lot. It's really worth giving it a try and if you all get more involve, I am sure we will listen to you all and make this, eventually the dream collector's tool.

Member will still be able to sell for free on the forums. No intent to change this and oblige members in any way. But think about the forum intergration. Latly we added the link to the Inventory and to your store. So in all members postbit, on the left, you can see the links and this is valid for all members.

This project was done by member from the staff and we all know, no one is paid, this is why where we will charge, we can afford to charge less then other site. The free inventory would not have been possible, the community is our strenght and we used this to make the free part of the project. I just hope we all start using it more.
