    Ebay "handling fee", lol

I won an auction, but before it ended I asked the seller how much shipping would be. (we both live in Canada) I was quoted $4-$5. Seemed high but I went for it anyway. After I won the auction I requested a total including shipping. Shipping jumped to $6. I questioned it. I was told that they would refund anything after postage and a $4 "handling fee". What the heck is that?

    Do the math......
$6 minus a $4 handling fee and postage. I'll be lucky to get back $0.50, lol.

This person has perfect feedback too....but that might change!

    Just had to vent.

    lol....yeah.

Am I wrong to think that $6 shipping within Canada is crazy? I mean, if he quoted it at $6 and I bid anyway, I wouldn't be complaining, but to quote a price and then raise it to whatever you want?

well whats the ebay name so we know not to do business with him. you can't quote a fee and then change it after the fact. there's no such thing as an ebay "handling" fee.
