Upperdeck should just stop
They lost their NBA license but yet they are still trying to profit and now in doing so they are probably going to destroy one of their greatest products. I just read they are putting out SPA this year but its all on college uniforms. REALLY!!!!!! Give me a break!!! Whats next UD black in college uniforms. UD should just stick their head in the sand and call it a day. I have always liked SPA but I can promise you I will not be buying this years college crap. Done even get me started on this years sweet spot football. That product was horrible IMO.

College uniforms aren't the problem for me. I'd much prefer NBA uniforms, but that's not possible for them at the moment. A diluted checklist, sticker autos, and poor designs while still charging a premium price... now that's a problem.
I would still buy SPA if there were rookie patch autos and something other than junky letter autos. However, two letterman autos a $95 box does not get me excited. Flooding it with Jordan and LeBron autos actually hurts their cause IMO. The only card I've seen in the previews that looks worth owning is the MJ Floor AU, and that card looks legit.

O I totally agree with that. You can bet that their SPA will be POOR!!!! quality and the same price they always charge. The card industry is going down the tubes. The products are full of sticker auto's the so called higher end stuff is full of one color patches or a jersey swatches. Look at half the john wall Auto's on ebay its full of sticker auto's and white jersey swatches. This is exactly why I am glad my PC players were from a few years ago. Atleast I can still get a nice patch out of exquisite for my Derrick Rose PC or a nice product line like UD black from my Durant PC. If your collecting the the crop of rookies from last year or this year the quality product is few and far between. I will give national treasures its props that is nice looking.

Well there was Ultimate and let's just say someone here ripped in half the auto card they got. That pretty much sums up what may happen with SPA.

LOL!!! really that is pretty bad. I am sure ultimate is also rookies in college uniforms. Why cant UD just give up on basketball and focus on quality stuff they still have license in. I can see the UD team meeting
"we lost out license so WHAT CAN WE DO to still profit off basketball"
O I got it lets put out the same products but put them in the college uniforms with sticker auto's. I am sure people will buy our crap product since they did in the past.
"Thats great johnson make it happen"
UD is completely destroying what ever name recognition they still had left. I my self will never buy another UD product unless its an actual single off ebay and I know exactly what I am getting.

I dont have a problem with the college uniforms since thats all i collect really but they need to have a better checklist besides Jordan & Lebron. You need to get more young guys with the old school guys.

I am not big on the college uniforms but as far as the point you made your 100% correct. How can you sell a product by trying to push a jordan or lebron auto. I mean collectors are not stupid. Pulling a jordan or lebron auto are not exactly easy. You might buy 10 boxes and not pull an auto of either. So for the chances of pulling one of those guys I would pass buying any of the product. I mean atleast with panin you have a lot of the younger tallent and the rookies you can pull auto's out of.
