    Best cards to get auto'd

My kids and I are going to the Cards/Yankee game June 11th and the company I work for got our tickets. The seats are the first row behind the Cards dugout so I figured it is a good opportunity to get some autos. Should I just get basecards auto'd or inserts and then get them authenticated. I would hate to get a Pujols rookie auto'd and then something go wrong with an authenticator. Anyone know a reputable authenticator?
    Thanks-MW

If you going to keep the cards you get auto'd then use whatever card you want.

If you're thinking of selling down the road don't get anything expensive signed. Because if the auto is deemed fake for whatever reason you just ruined a nice card.

    The standard authenticator:

I agree 100% with kr580 on all his points. If you are going to keep them, go for a nice GU or RC. And there is no need to get it authenticated either.
