Hockey’s own Royalty
BY: Sally Mendoza
The L.A Kings is a member of the National Hockey Team (NHL). It was one of the six new teams in 1967. The team was owned by the owner of the L.A.Lakers, Jack Kent Cooke. He bought the franchise for $2 million. The Kings tickets are gobbled up by the fans coming from the northeastern United States and Canada.Due to the large fan base of the Kings, Kings tickets were considered a commodity.
The Kings played in The Forum for their first 32 seasons. The Forum was the arena Cooke built to serve as the home of the Kings. Even though many people bought Kings tickets, they were all accommodated by the vast Forum.
