    Thinking about selling on here...

So I'm starting to think that I'll try selling some of my cards on here, and I'm looking for some advice...I don't have any high-end cards, and most of my decent cards (GU and autos) are of semi-stars, or worse...I do have some decent rookies/inserts, but they are from low-end sets. Would it be worth my time to type up what I have and list it on here to try to sell them? I don't really want to go the ebay route, as I don't think I have anything decent enough to sell for much more than $5 or so...basically looking for your thoughts on if I should spend several hours typing up cards for sale or not...

Thanks in advance for any help you can give me!

i dont know how else you would sell something without listing what you have to sell right?

it'll probably be tedious but worth it if you sell a few lots of cards.

I've had mixed success with selling some low end stuff on here. If you have recent year RC's they should sell okay (09-10, 10-11), any of the no name rc's before that will probably not sell anymore.

Inserts, you might be able to move them if you have good sized lots of players or teams.

It's tedious to type the cards up, if you have nothing better to do though, you might be able to make about at least $20 or more depending on what kind of stuff you have.

If they're scanned in Photobucket, just start a thread and highlight the type of stuff you're selling in the thread title, "Low/Mid-End Timberwolves GU". If you're not looking to move all of it, start a new for sale album. Recommend adding prices. It will eliminate a lot of guess work and "How much for X" PM's.

Thanks guys. I'm not planning on listing the no-namers - for now, anyway. I think I'll start with the "better" cards, then move on to RCs, inserts, etc, if those do halfway decent.

It's worth doing Nathan, I funded about half of the shipping of my belongings back to Canada by just selling cards (about $400) and I didn't have anything super major either...

heres a couple other things that Ive found as I sell.

    1. You have to work at it- dont just post a sales post and expect that to work- check other threads, see what people are buying, and offer on their threads.

    2. It isnt fast, you will hold some stuff for quite a while, but it mostly all moves

    3. Know what you want to make on cards, and then start them a bit higher- dont do the "PM me and Ill give you a price" as that turns off a lot of buyers. Post a price, and know what your wiggle room is.

    4. Id say list the cheap stuff too- you never know when a team or player collector will buy some stuff that you never thought youd sell. I keep a spreadsheet of all my cheap stuff, sorted by team, and I post it every couple of days. Sometimes I make a bunch of sales, sometimes I dont make any, but since my list is updated, it doesnt cost me more than a minute or two of my time

Thanks, Ed. I plan on listing prices on just about everything - there are a few that I'm listing as "make offer", as I don't know what the values of them are...but, that's about 5 cards out of 100 so far...so, not too many...as for the cheap stuff...I'll list it last, as I figure I'd rather make $5 off one card rather than $5 off 50 cards...although, $5 is $5...but, those'll come later.
